Whitney + Derek | Horse Farm Engagement

Whitney and Derek are planning a wedding this January in the beautiful state of Kentucky. Derek owns a mixed martial arts gym where Whitney works out. Listening to their love story, its obvious that these two hit it off right away. Unfortunately for Derek, much of their engagement was spent apart as Whitney served for our country in Afghanistan. Hanging out with these two though, it seemed like they never missed a beat. They spent their session smooching and being silly together with their great dane Jasper and Whitney’s horse Everitte. For their engagement session, I met Whitney and Derek out at the horse farm where Everitte boards, a place called Fourth Rock Stables. The day was cool and misty and fall was in the air. These are my favorite kinds of autumn days. I just love how grey skies make all the colors pop against it. I photographed Whitney and Derek among the colorful trees and the barn before wandering into the thick pine forest to finish up the session. These two even climbed into a hay bale for a straw fight in the rain. How fun is that?!
