Getting the Best Dance Shots
Ask any guest about their favorite part of the wedding day and they will probably say its the reception. Wedding receptions are a lot of fun to photograph too! With so many cool venues in the Raleigh area, we love to incorporate the space and ambiance in our reception photos. And of course things really get fun after dinner. :) The bride and groom have had a chance to enjoy a couple drinks and everyone is ready to get out on the dance floor- and Josh and I aren’t afraid to get out there too. Being candid photographers, we love to photograph the wedding guests getting down and having a good time. We often stand on a chair to get a fun angle looking down on the dance floor, or we’ll get in the middle of the dance circle with an ultra-wide lens for a more creative shot. Something we really have fun working with is DJ light. We like to use these colorful lights to our advantage to add a cool effect to our dance shots and we know exactly how to expose our images for the best photos. We even ask the DJ to help us out and kick the lights up a bit too. People often wonder what gives our dance photos that cool colorful effect and this is exactly it- just beautiful natural light. If you really love these photos, our best advice is to look for a DJ who has a light setup. It creates an awesome ambiance too. Thanks for reading and we can’t wait to see what you have planned for your wedding day!
