Rachel + Blake | Colorful Theater Wedding
Rachel and Blake’s wedding was such a joy to photograph. Their ceremony and reception venues were unique, it was full of fun colors, and of course, we had the most adorable bride and groom to take pictures of. Rachel and Blake were married in Columbia, South Carolina’s Town Theater. Rachel had grown up seeing plays in this theater. Her sister even performed there and has her name written on the dressing room countertop. Her mom said that ever since she was young, Rachel wanted to have her wedding here. We have to say that this was an awesome idea!
Rachel and Blake were married on stage as their family and friends looked on from the audience. The theater was decorated with colorful banners and twinkling lights. One family member even made a custom poster marquee for the bride and groom. The family love that went into this wedding is amazing. So many people helped put the little details together to make one beautiful wedding.
For their reception, we moved onto the City Gallery in downtown Columbia. Continuing with the fine arts theme, this venue has its walls covered in paintings and drawings. There were lanterns and string lights hung from the ceiling. Rather than cake, Rachel and Blake served Krispy Kreme doughnuts to their guests. We just love all the thought and personal details these two and their families put into this whole event.
One of our previous couples, Anna and Kevin, were at the wedding and it was great to say hi! Eveyone danced and had a great time. But before long, it was time to send these newlyweds off. Guests waved colorful homemade flags as Rachel and Blake ran through the line. What a great night it was! Thank you so much for asking us to be a part of it and for inviting us to visit the charming town of Columbia, South Carolina. We are just so grateful ~Shelley and Josh Hartman, South Carolina Wedding Photographers
