Ruchal + Steven | Curaçao Destination Portraits
Josh and I feel incredibly blessed to be able to share our love of travel and photography together. These two things go hand in hand, and its just so romantic to explore places unknown with your spouse. This February, our friends Ruchal and Steven brought us to one of their favorite travel spots for a week-long escape from winter. Curaçao is an island located off the coast of Venezuela. Its not very big, and its definitely not the bahamas, but that is what made us excited to visit. You see, rather than being covered in white sand and palm trees, the island of Curaçao is made up of sharp volcanic rock and cactus plants. As part of the Netherland Antilles, the people here are highly influenced by both Dutch and South American cultures. I must say, its pretty cool. However, what draws many people to this island is not what is on land, but what is underwater. Curaçao boasts some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the area. The water is turquoise blue and crystal clear. We saw eels, squid, sea turtles, and fish of every color- and that was just snorkeling! Steven and Ruchal are huge dive enthusiasts, so this is something that I really wanted to incorporate into their couple’s session.
