Matthew + Allie | Wedding at NC State University Club in Raleigh
Recently we had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Allie and Matthews’s beautiful wedding at the NC State University Club in Raleigh. Allie and Matthew live in Santa Barbara, but both went to NC State, so it made sense to celebrate their union there. Allie and her bridesmaids started out getting ready at the lovely Studio 180 Salon in Cary. The ladies were all laughs and we had a great time hanging out with them as they primped. After a while, I split off to get some pictures of Allie’s gorgeous bouquet and wedding dress. Allie’s florist, Embellished Blooms, did a wonderful job creating the bouquets and floral arrangement using a blend of succulents, peach-colored roses, and hydrangeas. I especially loved setting the wedding rings on Allie’s bouquet for some stunning macro shots (if I do say so myself ).
As the ladies finished getting dressed, Matthew and his groomsmen relaxed around back. It was a beautiful day in Raleigh, and the guys caught some fresh air on this 80 degree day in April. Soon guests started to arrive, and before we knew it, it was time for Matthew and Allie to say “I Do.” Matthew and Allie chose to have their ceremony outdoors on the patio of the NC State University Club. The site was decorated with twinkling lights, pastel ribbons and stunning floral arrangements. Guests teared up as they listened to the couple exchange vows , which Allie and Matthew sealed with a sweet ( and very long!) kiss.
After the ceremony, we went off with the bride and groom to the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh. The garden was in full bloom and I just adore the sweet moments we were able to capture between Allie and Matt. They kissed and hugged and shared their excitement of finally being husband and wife. We then headed right back to the NC State University Club to begin the reception. The event was planned by the ultra-talented Priscilla from Orangerie Events and everything went without a hitch. As soon as the music started, all of the guests got out on the dance floor- and I mean everyone! There was one point where I looked around and no one was sitting in their chairs. Even the grandparents were dancing! It was a wonderful sight to see.
At last, the night came to an end and Allie and Matthew left in style. They were chauffeured out in a stunning vintage Excalibur surrounded by their guests cheering them on. This was truly a wonderful night and we feel so blessed to have been a part of it. Best wishes to the beautiful bride and her handsome groom! ~ Josh and Shelley, Candid Wedding Photographers
