Merritt + Damian | North Carolina Vintage Homestead Wedding
Merritt and Damian’s wedding was a combination of everything we love. It was unique, full of personality, and packed with beautiful and thoughtful touches. Merritt and Damian were married this December at the bride’s historic family homestead in Elm City, NC, a tiny town about an hour outside of Raleigh. I am just in love with this old house and all of its beautiful decor. It was so much fun incorporating it into the photographs. Merritt and Damian even gathered all of their families old wedding dresses and decorated the front porch with them. How cool is that?! Having an outdoor winter wedding in North Carolina, Merritt kept warm in a lovely two piece ensemble. Her sparkly white skirt and soft grey sweater looked perfect with the necklace that Damian picked out for her. And of course, she wore leopard print shoes to match her new last name :). Merritt and Damien were married outside on the front lawn overlooking the river as the sun set. The light was perfect and golden and romantic. Afterward, Merritt, Damian, and all of their guests headed inside for a fun-filled evening reception. Their planner, Stephanie from Viva la Event, decorated the long wooden tables in greens and purple thistle. It was so gorgeous! After chowing down on a delicious dinner of global fare, the bride and groom and all of their guests headed out to the dance floor. There was breakdancing, singing, and even crowdsurfing! This party was so fun we never wanted it to end, but at the end of the night these two ran off through a line of sparklers to get ready for their honeymoon in Prague. Best wishes to you both Merritt and Damien! Thank you so much for asking us to be a part of your beautiful wedding! ~ Josh and Shelley Hartman, Raleigh Vintage Wedding Photographers
