Mary + Brian | New Years Wedding at University Club in Durham
Mary & Brian are friends of mine who I have watched grow from newly dating to newlyweds. They both work as nurses at Duke University Hospital where they met and they are a perfect match for each other. Most of Mary’s family lives in New York while most of Brian’s family lives in Florida. So, while planning their wedding, Mary and Brian decided to have both of their families come together in Raleigh for one huge New Years Eve wedding celebration. The night started with a Catholic ceremony at St. Francis of Assisi in North Raleigh. St. Francis of Assisi is a beautiful church featuring exposed wooden beams and bountiful natural light. Mary and Brian couldn’t stop smiling as they stood up at the altar saying their vows. After the ceremony, we drove around together and found some beautiful open fields and rustic buildings to photograph their couples portraits at. We got started right at sunset and the photos turned out great I must say! We then headed over to Durham’s University Club for the reception and New Year’s Eve celebration. Friends and family stayed out on the dance floor all night. When the clock struck midnight, everyone blew their horns and toasted to the New Year. We even snuck a photo of Brian and Mary’s first New Years kiss! Brian and Mary were then escorted by their guests through a sparkler send off. Thank you so much for inviting us to be a special part of your wedding day. Cheers to your new life as husband and wife! ~ Josh and Shelley, Candid Durham Wedding Photographers
