Emily + Dragos | MacGregor Downs Country Club Wedding

We first met Emily and Dragos at our office when they booked us as their wedding photographers. They came over and ended up staying for a while as we soon discovered that we had so much in common. Not long after, these two invited us over for dinner and they have since become wonderful friends of ours. Getting to know these two very special people has been so much fun, and we loved being able to take part in their special day.

Emily and Dragos were married at the MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary this May. This venue has a wonderfully natural, rustic vibe and we can see why Emily and Dragos fell in love with it. The property is surrounded by tall loblolly pines and sits on a beautiful large lake. Inside, the rooms are decorated with large wooden beams and giant windows overlooking the fantastic scenery. Emily and Dragos had their ceremony outdoors in front of a large iron arbor that Dragos himself had constructed. Dragos is a talented blacksmith who runs a the Raleigh Wrought Iron Company with his father. The arbor he made features dozens of perfectly sculpted hearts. It was a very personal touch and added a wonderful backdrop to the ceremony photos.

After Emily and Dragos shared their “I do’s”, we headed out to the lawn for some sweet couples photos. The sky looked like rain, but the weather held off for us until we went back inside. Emily and Dragos are so in love and that really shows through in their photographs. We loved snapping pics while they kissed and smiled at each other in newlywed bliss. :)

Emily and Dragos then headed inside to join their family and friends for their reception. We even got to see one of our other couples who are getting married this fall- Emily’s brother Mike and his fiancé Kera. Let me tell you, this bunch knows how to party! Emily loves old 90’s hits, so the DJ kept the celebration going with the Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, and a whole bunch of great 90’s songs. EVERYONE got out on the dance floor and partied the night away until it was time to send the newlyweds off at the end of the night. Emily and Dragos, we are honored to call you our friends and to have the privilege of photographing your beautiful wedding day!
