Sulene + Grayson | Greenville, SC Wedding
Sulene and Grayson are just the sweetest. Josh first met Grayson at a mountain bike race he was photographing in Raleigh. Sulene loved his action shot on the bike, got it as a gift to Grayson, and then contacted us for their engagement photos. We first met up with the two of them in Lake Lure for their autumn engagement and hit it off right away. Then, soon enough, Sulene and Grayson started planning their wedding in Greenville, South Carolina.
Josh and I had not been to Greenville, but we were so excited to visit- not only to see a new place, but to see Sulene and Grayson again. Greenville is a wonderful southern town. Its built around a river, and is filled with beautiful historic buildings. Sulene and Grayson were married in the Certus Loft right off the river which used to be a working mill during war times. The venue is full of industrial details, warm brick, and giant windows.
Sulene and Grayson held both their ceremony and reception in the Certus Loft. There were sparking chandeliers hung from the ceiling and a giant floral arrangement at the end of the aisle where they were married. Sulene and Grayson were surrounded by family and friends who had traveled from all over the US to be with them. Even Sulene’s 91 year old grandmother was able to attend.
Coming from a Chinese family, Sulene incorporated nods to her heritage throughout the day. My favorite were the homemade cookies she and grayson made as favors. They were stamped with the red double happiness symbol (and were totally delicious). We also had the chance to learn a little bit of Mandarin during Sulene’s dad’s speech. Its always fun to see different cultures coming together.
Sulene and Grayson, thank you so much for asking us to be a part of this absolutely beautiful day. We wish you both a life of adventure and hope to keep in touch! ~ Shelley and Josh Hartman, North + South Carolina Wedding Photographers
