First Look at Duke Gardens
You might remember Sarah and Roger from one of our previous blog posts. These two met up with us last fall in Grayson Highlands State Park in Virginia to hike with the wild ponies. This time when we met up, it was a bit warmer, and a whole lot fancier. Sarah and Roger were married at the beautiful Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham. The Duke Gardens are exquisite any time of year, but you really can’t beat getting married here in the spring. Sarah and Roger started their day getting ready at the Millenium Hotel before heading over to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens for their first look. These two shared many sweet moments before their ceremony and we feel honored to be allowed to witness these with them. After this, we wandered by the bamboo gardens for some couple’s portraits before heading back to the ceremony site.
Angle Ampitheater Wedding Ceremony
Sarah and Roger were married outdoors next to the beautiful Duke Gardens reflection pond at the Angle Amphitheater. Sarah’s whimsical Watters gown was jaw dropping. They were married by their dear friend, who shared sweet stories of their love. After the ceremony, we headed back to the Doris Duke Center for a beautiful garden-themed reception. Sarah and Roger’s wedding planner Dana from C&D Events did an amazing job on all the florals and decor. I especially loved the herb sprigs and giant succulents in the centerpieces. The new Mr and Mrs hired a phenomenal band, Emerald Empire, who kept the dance floor hoppin’ all night long. When it was finally time for their send-off, we were sad to leave. Sarah and Roger, thank you so much for inviting us to share in this wonderful celebration with you two! We are so happy that you two soul mates have found each other in this great big world! ~Shelley Hartman, Raleigh – Durham Wedding Photographer
