Kelly + Chris | A Flight to Ocracoke Engagement
Working with so many wonderful couples, its hard to pick favorites. But after spending the day with Kelly and Chris, they definitely won our hearts. These two came up with the idea for their engagement session during our very first meeting. Chris has his private pilots’ license and he won Kelly over as his passenger. They would take day trips to a fun destination, stop for lunch, and then fly back home by the evening. Is there anything more romantic than that?
For their engagement session, Kelly and Chris rented a small passenger plane out of Raleigh Executive Airport in Sanford. This tiny plane could only fit 3 comfortably, so one of their friends was kind enough to fly Josh in another plane. While we may not have been able to ride together, Josh certainly didn’t seem to mind. His pilot let him fly the Cessna a good part of the way. I enjoyed hanging out with these lovebirds and enjoying the gorgeous landscapes out the window. It was especially exciting to see the sliver of the Outer Banks as we landed on Ocracoke.
After we landed on Ocracoke, it was only a few minutes walk to the beach. The water was cold, but Kelly and Chris dipped their toes in and played in the tide. We could not have asked for a more perfect day at the beach. The sun was warm and the breeze was refreshing. We enjoyed an afternoon out there, drank a couple of ginger beers, and then flew back to Raleigh Executive Airport before the sunset.
Thank you so much guys for volunteering to take us on this wonderful adventure! October Cant come soon enough! ~Josh and Shelley Hartman, North Carolina Adventure Engagement Photographers
