Joanna + Jade | Wedding at Merry Hill Farm in Mebane

Joanna and Jade are a beautiful couple who are passionately in love. They have traveled all over together and we loved hearing about all their adventures as we hung out with them on their wedding day. When we first met with Joanna, she told us she grew up riding horses, so it seemed perfectly appropriate that she decided to tie the knot at Merry Hill Farm. Merry Hill Farm is a lovely plantation style property situated on a real working farm complete with horses, roosters, and peacocks. The owner of the venue is an artist, and the house is covered in Van Gogh and Picasso inspired paintings. It was really fun being able to incorporate some of these paintings into our photographs as Joanna got ready. Outside, the property features rustic horse stalls and a large open field. This location has definitely turned out to be one of our favorite places to photograph!

Joanna and Jade started the day out getting ready in the house with their closest families and friends. Though every bride is bound to be a little nervous before her wedding day, Joanna was full of laughs and we caught a few of her beautiful smiles on camera. Joanna actually designed her dress out of her mother’s gown, tailoring it with a dropped neck and elegant open back. She also used her mother’s original veil and accented the vintage look with a stunning pair of Badgley Mischka heels and long white gloves. Josh and I loved her dramatic style. I think Josh’s pictures of Joanna getting ready really capture her Hollywood glamour and radiant personality.

Joanna and Jade were married on the front lawn of the property under a large white huppa. Jade is Christian and Joanna is Jewish, so they had two officiants guide their inter-faith wedding. It was a lovely service. After an emotional ceremony, the couple joined their guests for a lovely outdoor reception. Tables were lit by candles and hanging lights and guests danced away to classic hits before settling down in front of a huge bonfire. This was a perfectly unique outdoor event and we are so grateful to have been a part of it. Congratulations Joanna and Jade!
